Elliot

  • Producer
  • Editor
  • Writor

As Joe is going to direct the film he will set up most of the shots and tell the actors what to do, where to be and how to act. The director usually works with theproducer to make the idea into something that can be filmed. They often help to sell the ideas for a film to a production company and are very important to secure financialbacking for the films. We ourselves may take part in some of the acting and so whilst Joe directs I will either help to film the shot or act within the scene myself.

The other difference that Joe and myself have is that I will do most of the editing making the final cuts how we want them and making sure all the sound fits in. An editor's job is to collect all the footage and make sure it all fits together. They usually follow a storyboard which is what I intend to do. Whilst i am doing this Joe will help me slightly with decisions about where we want each shot to be and will use the storyboard to keep them in order.
